Rub roast: a bbq dry rub for beef, from tri-tip to porterhouse steaks, to a top round roast! !
Rub roast is bbq dry rub is great on any type of beef. I know, I know, I've preached that I think you should only use black pepper and kosher salt
when you make beef brisket.
But, I never said anything about any other cuts, did I? This seasoning paste is great on smaller pieces, like a good sized tri-tip or even a massive porterhouse for two. Oh my, I just had a hot flash... Oh hell, it's great on all cuts too, like a prime rib or top sirloin...Go for it. Just make the amount thicker, the bigger the cut.
Recipe: a great seasoning for beef:
2 TB Lawry's seasoned salt2 Tb salt 2 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp dry mustard 2 TB chili powder 2 Tb chipotle Powder 2 tsp black pepper 2 Tb brown sugar Mix all of the ingredients, and if not using immediately, store in an air-tight container.
To use, rub into your meat of choice, and let season overnight. Taste the rub to gauge how much to use based on how large the piece of meat you are seasoning!
